Tips For Choosing the Best GI Joe Halloween Costume
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is is still one of the most fun action movies. Coupled with the various comics and the video games, you can expect GI Joe costumes to be some of the hottest costumes for Halloween this year.
First, let me clear up a point that may cause some confusion. A lot of people think that GI Joe stand for a specific character. This is probably due to the action figure doll that came out in the 60s. Instead, what we are talking about here is from the hit movie, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In this case, GI Joe stands for the “Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity” whose goal it is to take on Storm Shadow and Cobra, from the evil organization know as Cobra.
The main characters are Snake Eyes and Duke. The evil characters representing Cobra are Storm Shadow, the Baroness, the Doctor and Cobra Commander. GI Joe is dedicated to protecting the world from the Cobra organization. Duke and Snake Eyes are pitted against the evil Storm Shadow, the Baroness and Cobra Commander. There are comic books, video games, and of course the movie, where we can see the battles played out.
You will find that there is a wide assortment of cool and creative GI Joe costumes available in Adult sizes, plus sizes, along with teen in child sizes. The movie was a real hit with the younger set and you will find that the GI Joe costumes are loved by all. If you’re going to a Halloween party, or your kids are going trick-or-treating, you’ll want to plan ahead to make sure you have the best GIJoe Halloween costume possible. Let’s look at a few things to consider.
First, is it for an adult or a child? An adult who is going to be wearing their costume to a party, or maybe costume day at work, has slightly different needs than kids who are out wandering the neighborhood, particular when it comes to safety.
Kids costumes need to give them a little more freedom to move, as well as good visibility. They’re likely going to be walking around the streets in the dark, so they need to be able to see what’s around them, and the cars and other people need to be able to see them clearly.
If the costume is for kids, it’s a good idea to get one that’s large enough for them to wear warm clothing underneath. Nobody wants to hide their costume under a coat or sweater, so that stuff should be worn underneath to keep them warm, and possibly dry.
The next thing to consider is whether the costume is for one person or a group is going out together, and wants to do a “GI Joe” theme. You might have someone dressed in a Snake Eyes costume, someone else as Duke and another as the Baroness or Storm Shadow. There are lots of ways to do a “group” costume without having more than one of the same characters.
If you’re planning a Halloween party, you could even choose to do a ninja theme. This would give people more opportunities than by sticking to GI Joe theme specifically, but it would no doubt be one of the more popular costumes since the movie was released this year.
You’ve got two choices when it comes to Halloween costumes – buy or rent. Renting a costume can often cost as much or more than buying one, but the quality of the costume tends to be better. This is often a good choice for adults who really want to go the distance in the quality and presentation of their costume.
Either way, it pays to shop around a bit before buying. There are lots of dedicated costume shops, and more stores carry costumes at Halloween time. But you can also shop online for costumes, and the selection is often a lot better when you do this.
Price is likely a factor, but don’t choose a costume just because it’s cheap. The quality is often not very good on cheap costumes, and they may not hold up to normal wear and tear very well. This is especially important for kids, who often wear their costumes a few times, not just on Halloween night.
