I bought this product together with another one. It took quite a long time for this particular one to be delivered, almost one week after the other arrived and that delayed sending them to me.

Otherwise, the product is good and I like it very much.

Made with the same cheap hardware as the traditional junk box inspirion just smaller and slower. This is over priced and pointless.

I was very disappointed in this product. It is true, you get what you pay for. Several number keys did not work. I am a very petite woman with very small hands and typing was virtually impossible on this computer. However, I would give Amazon 10 stars if I could. I sent it back on a Monday, they arranged pickup, and my complete refund was in my account by Friday. Great customer service but computer was not worth it.

[[ASIN:B002PY7P02 Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 10.1-Inch Obsidian Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)]I bought this netbook with many reservations, particularly since it had only 1M of RAM. But, surprisingly, that has not been a problem. Now you must realize that a netbook is not meant to run things like CAD or these really power-hungry programs. But for my needs it has been great. It has more than enough space with a 320G hard drive and I am now running Windows 7 Home Premium on it which works great, as well as Office Home & Student edition. I use it to take notes, watch movies, as well as read ebooks. I have had no problem with the video – it is better than I expected. The Dell mini is very light and easy to carry and the battery lasts and lasts. So, if you are looking for a netbook, this is one worth considering.

I’m not a computer expert by any means, so I was a little nervous buying a netbook since I kept reading reviews about power problems, etc. I went with Dell because it seemed to be the only one without significant problems in customer service. The first time I plugged my Inspiron mini in, it charged fully pretty quickly. The battery life seems to be well over 8 hours of internet surfing and typing – better than advertised! The second time I tried to charge, I got an error message saying it recognized that the charger was plugged in, but it couldn’t find the battery and thus was not able to charge. Same situation I had read about on a lot of the netbooks. :( I turned it off then back on, no luck. Then I turned it off and removed the battery. I blew on it a little, because that worked back in the day with my Nintendo games, and replaced the battery. It is now fully charged again! Hopefully, this solution will keep working, and work for others.

Otherwise, I’m still getting to know this device so I can’t say much about it. It’s a lot faster than my old laptop, but that isn’t saying much at all. The keyboard is a little small, but I’m getting used to it pretty quickly. I have small hands, so I guess that helps. Not carny hands, but little girl hands. It seems to be suiting my needs well enough, and I can save my documents as normal word documents and not frustrate my professors with some funky file type.
