This is a piece of trash shipped directly from Amazon. It got dirty mud in every pieces right after we open it. We have spend hours to clean the frame and washed cover pieces, but not all dirty marks are gone. I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of repackaging and shipping it back. I wouldn’t recommend everybody to buy it here. Very disappointed. What a waste of money and time.

Judging just from pictures and seeing similar products, this swing appeared strong but light. Upon retrieving it from my doorstep I realized it was pretty heavy for what looks like just a bunch of tubes. (In my newborn-induced sleep deprivation I missed the product weight in the description). Assembly was fairly straightforward, nothing much to say about that. The finished product is one of gigantic proportions. I definitely recommend going to a store and viewing one before you purchase it. Yeah, Amazon tells you the dimensions and you can kinda guess what it’ll look like. But the actual floorspace it takes up is something that should be considered. There’s no plug-in option to replace the 4 monstrous D batteries it requires. The 4 screws to remove the battery cover is kinda overkill. Just the battery cover alone makes up half the removable hardware.
However, all gripes aside, the swing works just as it should: It swings. It keeps our newborn content until he figures out nobody is actually there swinging him. The mobile turns really slow but enough to grab his attention. The music has 6 recognizable soothing tunes and 6 more “playful” ones. The nature sounds are a beach ambiance and what sounds like another beach ambiance but with different birds. The sound quality is decent at best. The main reason we got this swing was because it wasn’t the played-out rain forest theme. It looks good in its final form and looks better when it keeps your baby asleep long enough to make a meal, have a few drinks, or whatever it is you want to do between baby naps.
So for the serious buyers consider your floorspace would be the only advice I would have. Otherwise it gets the job done. Good luck.

This product is very nice for a baby but the powercord wouldn’t work, it would only run on batteries. Had to call Fisher-Price and they are sending new cord.

We bought this in Sept 06 when my son was born, as my other two kids loved their swings as babies. We thought it was a cool theme and loved that it plugged in, we used a LOT of batteries in the previous swings we owned, so this was huge.
Well he started using it at 5lbs and we set it at the slowest speed and it was fast. As he grew, it had a harder and harder time swinging him, but it was sporadic. Sometimes it would be fast and others it would be slow. But now he weighs 19lbs and at the fastedt setting it can still swing him, though very slowly. Regardless, he is entertained by the mobile and we turn on the “sleepy” music during nap time even if he’s not in the swing. The different music is awesome, settings at “slow music, fast music, jungle sounds and water sounds. We used them all.
Now he is too mobile to just sit so we don’t put him in it much, but the music and mobile are useful. All in all, I agree there are things to improve, but we have relied on this swing in different ways and it has not disappointed us.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RT2RDATKYCUN6 This baby swing is the best! If i could give this review 4 1/2 stars, I would (see cons below). I have never owned another baby swing before, as this is my first child. But this swing is by far better than any of our other friends’ baby swings because of all the great options/features which make it stand out! Since we brought her home, she has LOVED this swing! She prefers the side-to-side movement. Maybe because it allows her to see the rest of the room as well as the back yard. Either way, she loves looking up and seeing her fish swim, she doesn’t really care either way about the music. 9 times out of 10, you put her in this and she takes a nap!
Features: The chair can rotate so she can swing front to back or side to side. There are 5 power levels for swinging. We used level 3 until she was around 13 lbs, then moved up to level 5. No noticeable difference in battery drain between the power levels. She is now 6 months old and we are on our 4th set of batteries. Duracell seems to last the longest at about 2 months others last only 1 month and rechargeables last 2 weeks. She takes at least 2 naps per day on this swing.
There are 2 music buttons each with their own tones (one upbeat and one mellow), and a third button mutes the music. There are also volume controls. Then there’s a button which turns the fishes at the top on/off. They spin very slowly (although still too fast for her to catch them)! The fish are set on a timer of about 10 minutes and stop by themselves (so does the music), but for some reason the fish can’t be turned back on unless you turn the unit off and on again to reset. I don’t know why they decided to make it that way, but they did.
Cons: no A/C adapter. The previous model did, but supposedly lacked on swing power. I would have loved to save on batteries. But I must admit that I would not have guessed these batteries could last 2 months with the amount we use it, and we always have the power set on the highest setting.
