I am due in two weeks with my first child, and so have not yet used the swing. However, it is super cute and was way easy to put together. I live in a small two bedroom apartment, so the size is perfect. I just know that having it is going to make a world of difference when my baby comes.

Our old swing broke shortly after our 3rd was born. I borrowed a different version of this swing from a friend and liked it so much we bought our own. NOTE: There are two versions – one with lights, sounds and toys and one without. I bought the simpler one on purpose, in fact I was thrilled to find it. The main reason our old swing broke was because my 2 and 3 year olds were constantly playing with the light and sounds switches. They would wake the baby by turning the music up loud and the extra features made it eat batteries faster. With this swing there is nothing to attract them so they let baby swing in peace! I love how easy it is to fold it up and move it from room to room. I also really like the fabric. The open-top feature also makes getting baby into and out of the swing a breeze. The first set of batteries I put in were cheap ones and they didn’t last long but brand-name batteries will last for ages. Our son loves his swing and I love knowing that it won’t take up much room when it’s time to put it away. Also, it’s super easy to take along anywhere you need to go. I would highly recommend this swing!

This is a nice swing, but this version has been recalled as of May 2007. Check the fisher price website for details. We experienced the exact problem that others described.

Battery life was good, and it calmed our baby for a while, but don’t expect to use it for many months…

This swing is wonderful for my 1 month old girl. She likes being in the horizontal position so the way the swing is designed is perfect for her. although, I do think that the swing should be adjustable so she can sit more upright in the future. The size is fantastic! I have a very small house so I couldn’t get one of the mongo designs. Plus, It is very easy to move room to room. The mobile is very interesting to her and is positioned in the perfect distance and position for a newborn. I can see it beeing a problem though in the future when she gets bigger and more mobile, because it is so close to the cradle. I would deffinitly reccomend this swing for newborns, but not so much for the older, & larger baby

Like many others, we bought this swing to take with us to the grandparents and to have something we could easily move from room to room in our house. Our four month old daughter is pretty squirmy, but we’ve had no concerns about her safety as long as she is buckled in. She likes the motion and the music and easily falls asleep in it. It’s very decent, but not amazing.

My complaints about the piece are:

The legs don’t lock in when the swing is folded and it makes it difficult to carry.

The parrot and frog on the mobile section fall off easily. We’ve had to tape them on.

It didn’t take long for my daughter to be completely bored with the parrot and frog. It would be nice in future versions if they could incorporate the rings that allow different toys to be swapped in and out.
